When the Met Office announced the first named storm of autumn as Storm Ashley, it felt like fate had a sense of humour. On the very day that our Ashleigh was due to marry Dan at the beautiful Sandburn Hall, near York, the wind and rain decided to make a dramatic entrance!
I always seem to get lucky with the weather when it comes to my early pre-wedding dawn shoots in York. This is my fourth shoot with a couple around the historic streets of York at ridiculous o'clock and every time I have been blessed with the perfect weather conditions, making the early starts seem worth it!
I'm sure Sandburn Hall just outside York must have been built with photographers in mind. The big floor to ceiling window in the main function room not only offers fantastic views over the golf course and lake, but let's in lots of natural light, which makes shooting a wedding there a photographers dream.
