I always seem to get lucky with the weather when it comes to my early pre-wedding dawn shoots in York. This is my fourth shoot with a couple around the historic streets of York at ridiculous o'clock and every time I have been blessed with the perfect weather conditions, making the early starts seem worth it!
Steph & Andy pre-wedding shoot | Acomb Wood, York
It was great meeting up with Steph and Andy for their pre-wedding shoot. The couple live in Woodthorpe, just outside York and suggested that we go to their local nature reserve, Acomb Wood, for the shoot. I always let couples choose the location of their pre-wedding shoot so that it is somewhere special to them, and Acomb Woods is a place that Steph and Andy spend a lot of time together walking their dog, Paddy - A special mention should go to Paddy who was such a star, until that is when he took the opportunity whilst I was lying down to get a shot to kick dirt up into my face! It was very funny and did provide some great shots of Steph and Andy laughing.
Vicky & Michael pre-wedding shoot | Priory Cottages, Wetherby
I met up with Vicky and Michael on a beautiful evening in early May when it felt like summer was upon us. Their chosen location was The Priory Cottages near Wetherby, a venue that despite just being around the corner from where I live, I have not photographed at before. In fact the only time I have been before was when I was looking at wedding venues for my own wedding, and probably would have chosen had we not decided to get married down south.
