Despite only being a few miles from where I live in Wetherby, when Scott and Katy suggested meeting at Bardsey Beck for their pre-wedding shoot, I admit that I had to get the OS map out to find out where it was! It turns out to be a bit of a hidden gem. Expecting there to be just a little steam running through some woods, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is home to Hetchell Wood Nature Reserve which includes a 10 metre high cliff (great for photographs!) and the Pompocali earthworks, believed to be of Roman origin (well, with a name like “Pompocali”…)
Scott and Katy were so natural in front of the camera. Despite being a little nervous to start with, they clearly love being in each others company, and I think that comes through in the photographs by how much they made each other laugh. I know that I am going to have a very easy job when I photograph them again on their wedding day at The Normans in April….
